Countdown utility
Online Timer
Set a custom countdown for focus sessions, cooking, exercise, study blocks, meetings or breaks. The timer runs locally in your browser and can be paused, reset or started again quickly.

How to use the timer
- Enter hours, minutes and seconds, or choose a preset.
- Add an optional label so the finish message is clear.
- Select Start, keep the tab available, and use Pause or Reset as needed.
The timer calculates against a finish timestamp rather than simply counting screen updates. That keeps the remaining time more reliable if the browser slows visual updates, but device sleep and background restrictions can still delay alerts.
When an online timer is useful
An online timer is best for ordinary blocks of attention or activity: steeping tea, timing a workout set, limiting a meeting segment, pacing a study round, or reminding yourself to stop a task after a set period. The visible countdown makes the remaining time concrete, which is often easier to respond to than a vague intention such as "I will stop soon."
For focused work, a timer can also reduce decision fatigue. Instead of repeatedly asking whether to continue, you choose the duration once and let the countdown define the session. If you need repeated work and break cycles, use the dedicated Pomodoro page. If you need a reminder at a specific clock time, use the alarm page instead.
Timer FAQs
Can I use this as a Pomodoro timer?
Yes. Use the 25 minute preset for a standard focus block, then set a 5 minute break manually or with the preset.
Does the timer store my data?
The current build does not send your timer label or duration to ClockWest servers. Essential browser storage may be used only for preferences.
Why did my alert arrive late?
Browsers can throttle inactive tabs, and mobile devices may pause scripts during sleep or low-power mode. For critical timing, use a dedicated device.
